The commercial will be judged on its creativity and effectiveness using the following criteria:
- Must portray an anti littering message
- Must be appealing to the youth target audience
- TV ads must include the supplied Keep Australia Beautiful/Do the right thing logo on the final screen.
- Must comply with the entry terms and conditions.

Keep Australia Beautiful have a number of different anti-littering messages. You may like to consider these concepts when developing your ad and create your own message:
- Littering is illegal
- Littering is harmful to the environment (e.g. air and water pollution and harm to wildlife)
- You can be fined for littering
- Litter should be put in the bin.

Shortlist process
All entries will be viewed by Keep Australia Beautiful.
Once the entry period ends on 29 July 2011, a selection of finalists will be chosen from each category. The finalists nominated in each category will be viewed and critiqued by a panel of marketing and advertising industry experts. The winners in each category will be announced on 1 September 2011.
All entries posted on the Trash My Ad website are eligible to win the People’s Choice Award of $250. The public are encouraged to continue to cast their vote for this award up to 13 August 2010. The winners of this award will be announced on 1 September 2011.
